Malefu Mahloane

Malefu J. Mahloane is a creative writer, storyteller, language practitioner and African Languages scholar. She has co-authored a Sesotho short stories anthology titled “Di mameleng ha di phetwa” under UNISA Press. Has contributed some of her early writings to Naane le Moya online literature blog. This storyteller has a background in theatre performance and was selected in 2011 by the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts and Culture as one of the upcoming theatre writers and directors. Currently working as a language practitioner, she further offers freelance translation and transcription services for the Sesotho – English pair.  Moreover, Malefu is now pursuing Ph.D studies in the fields of Corpus Linguistics and Forensic Linguistics with a focus on South African Sign Language legalese. Story writing and telling is her absolute first love for which she got groomed at Kwesukela Storytelling Academy and further advanced to voice acting under Zintsomi storytelling company.
